Okay, this whole ammo panic has gotten way out of hand. It seems that Double Tap has fallen off the wagon along with 1000 of his nearest and dearest ammo hoarding friends.
A while back (so long ago, in fact, that I forget exactly when), I requested that MidwayUSA notify me via email when they got some .22 LR CCI Mini-Mags back in stock. Well, today they sent me an email at 3:18 PM telling me that, yes, they really did have some in stock. By the time I checked my personal email at about 3:30 PM while in the midst of my second boring meeting of the day, they were sold out.
Again.
Not a scrap of brass, lead or powder with CCI's name on it anywhere on the website.
12 MINUTES to sell out even with a five box per customer limit.
COME ON PEOPLE. Cut a working guy a break. Some of us can't sit outside every gun store in town or hit refresh on our browsers every 30 seconds to see if there is any new stock to be hoarded. You people are worse than dragons.
"OOOOOooooo, it's shiny and it goes bang....must....hoard....ammo....."
Don't mind me...I'll just be in the corner...moping....

Remember that .22 I was so excited to find in the Utah WalMart back in the spring? Neither of my guns will shoot it. It's going to end up with my step-dad, because at least his revolver won't reject it :(
I purchased them ALL!!!! BBBUUUUUhahahahahahahahahaha
GunDiva, I'd say it serves you right for supporting Walmart which is Satan's retail outlet, but I understand your pain. My best man has a Ruger Single 10 that will only shoot CCI mini mags. Everything else causes the cylinder to bind up for some reason.
Double Tap, help a brother out. Send a box my way. Would ya?
I got the same email, but spent my monthly "Gear Budget" at the end of last week or I would have jumped on it. I got a notification one night near midnight and the wife and I logged in and were able to get 1000 rounds of .22 from Midway.
Senior, I guess that means the secret to success is insomnia and a willing accomplice. I'll have to give that a try.
I'm getting small boxes from Midway with a few boxes here and there in stead of candy and flowers.
The stores have little and the gun show is way overpriced. I'm just holding on to my reloads, for enough plinking I can hit a humpback whale at 50 feet, keeping just enough of the good stuff for self defense.
Brigid, I wouldn't know what a small box from Midway looks like since I can't catch them with anything in stock. I d have a buddy that has a place in East Texas that knows an out of the way gun store where he can purchase a box or two now and again.
